St Neots Regatta is a traditional side by side river event which attracts entries from a wide area.It is raced on the River Great Ouse.Nottingham Rowing Club entered several crews and The Junior Squad returned with seven trophies.Coach Claire Parnell felt it was a hard days racing over the 500m course with heats,semi-finals and finals and very close finishes, for most of her charges.

Anna Thornton (Fernwood School,Wollaton) and Olivia Kay (Rushcliffe School) won WJ14 double sculls.This was their third win together as an unbeaten partnership.Olivia,current J 14 National Champion,won the WJ15 title, she is undefeated this year.Peter Savage (Djanogly City Academy) and Faisan Shah (Farnborough School, Clifton) won J 13 Double Sculls.National Champion Rowan Law from West Bridgford School won J 14 Sculls.Connor Gamble ( Dayncourt School, Radcliffe-on Trent ) took time out from double sculling to take the J 15 sculls.Dominic Parnell,Connor’s doubles partner ( Grove School, Balderton ) won Novice Sculls.Connor and Dominic are J 15 Double scull National Champions.

Highlight of the afternoon was Olivia Duckworth ( Fernwood School,Wollaton ) who,despite being only 15, followed up her recent successes at Burton and the National Championships by winning Women’s Intermediate 3 sculls.

Seven wins brings the current Nottingham Rowing Club’s summer total to 87 wins as they move towards the minimum season’s target of 100.
