NOTTINGHAM ROWING CLUB AND ALUMNI FEATURE IN "FIRST RATE SET OF TRIALS"

The second week in April saw rowing trials at Caversham near Reading for athletes competing for places at this year's U23 and Senior World Rowing Championships.Sir David Tanner the GB Rowing Team Performance Director said "We've had a first rate set of trials with great conditions and a very competitive atmosphere.Some of these athletes can compete in the Tokyo Olympic Cycle for 2020."

Nottingham Rowing Club members showed up well.Jon Stimpson was second in the 'A 'final for men's sculls.Katie Bartlett was third and Caitlin Boyland fifth in the women's Sculls' B' final.George Halliwell came third in the men's sculls' C' final.

Nottingham Rowing Club Alumni members were also in action.Mary Wilson(Wallingford RC) won the Women's Lightweight Sculls.Rowan Law (Leander Club) was 6th in the men's 'A'final.Ed Fisher was placed third in the men's lightweight 'B' final .Louise Hart (Oxford Brookes University ) was fifth in the women's 'B' final.

With only 100 days left to the Rio Olympic rowing finals GB Team Rowing are  planning for the next Games and some Nottingham Rowing Club athletes are already in the frame.
