Lincoln Head 2016: four victories for Nottingham Rowing Club

The Lincoln Head of the River was rowed on Sunday March 13th, on an upstream 3,000m stretch of the River Witham. It was organised by the local Lincoln Rowing Centre on a fine spring day.

Nottingham Rowing Club returned with four wins. First club crew home and the fastest female boat of the day was the Women's Intermediate 2 quadruple scull, coached by Nikki Spencer, of Fleur Tavare, Annie Campbell-Orde, Kate Parsons and Georgina Grainger. Fastest female single sculler was Samantha Dartnall winning Women's Intermediate 2 singles. Ruth Hyde and Sarah Royles were part of the winning Women's Masters D Eight. Fresh from a 'Learn to Row' course, the Open Novice quad of Emre Gurpinar, Nick Page, Richard Mynett and Stephen Furgurson, coached by Laura Wheeler, won their event.
