The South Yorkshire Head, organised by Doncaster Rowing Club ,is over a 4,000m upstream course on the River Don. The race on Saturday February 13th began in Hexthorpe Park in Doncaster and finished in Sprotborough, at one stage passing under the A1 motorway. An interesting view for passing motorists!

Nottingham Rowing Club sent four scullers and two, coached by Dez Atkins and Nikki Spencer, returned as class winners.

Ellyce Stehlin, a new member from New Zealand, won Women's elite sculls in a time of 18min 10secs, a time that would have placed her third in the open elite singles! Fleur Tavare won Women's novice sculls.

The two wins brings the club winter total to 34, the present club record is 63. The next major event will be the Head of the Trent and Masters of Trentside on February 28th.
