Despite early heavy rain the Nottingham Rowing Club Open Day on Sunday 12th July, coordinated by Berni McCabe, proved a great success. Club members rallied round in force and coached, coxed and rowed to help beginners onto the River Trent.

The day was split into four sessions and visitors were given a brief look round and then a taster row on the water followed. Nearly 50 men and women took part, some did two sessions. All remarked that rowing was more complicated than they thought it would be.

Coordinator McCabe is to e-mail all who attended the day with details of L2R - the Learn to Row follow up for those who would like to row and follow either a recreational or competitive route in the club. She will also invite them to a party at the club on August 1st at 8.00pm.

Captain Helen Bloor was delighted with the turn out and with the great support given by club members from the Explore Rowing section, experienced veterans and World Class Start - everybody joined in.
