Marlow win a perfect start for Henley Royal Regatta campaign

Nottingham Rowing Club men, faced with the club's women's success in Varese in Northern Italy and at Henley Women's Regatta, struck back at the 160th Marlow Regatta held on the site of the 2012 Olympics at Eton, Dorney lake.

The coxless Four of Alex Evangelidis, Max Hearnandan, George Eden and Kenny Gray, coached by Olympian Lenny Robertson won their event in 6'25".

An Intermediate 2 crew of Joe Heade, Stu Sykes, Dan Benton and Toby Piggott won their B Final in 6'49".

The Junior boys of Jack Smith (Toot Hill School, Bingham), Harvey Kay (Rushcliffe School), James Mawby(Nottingham City Academy) and Rowan Law (West Bridgford School ) were a close second to a Scottish crew in 6'11". Tom Kay and Dez Atkins are currently coaching the quad as they get used to their brand new Wintech Cobra boat.

Henley Royal Regatta will take place over the traditional course on the River Thames on the first week in July.
