Dramatic changes took place in the weather at the end of May with a sunny Saturday while Sunday morning was wet and windy. Braving the elements, Nottingham RC were at two separate regattas, and returned with five wins.

At the prestigious Metropolitan Amateur Regatta held over 2000 m at Dorney Lake, site of the 2012 Olympics, Laura Wheeler won Women's Senior Sculls ahead of Agecroft and Sport Imperial. Kirstie Maxfield and Katherine Aquilar-Agon won Women's Intermediate 1 Double Sculls. Dez Atkins coaches these Nottingham High Performance girls.

Meanwhile, rowing over 1000 m at the Peterborough Spring Regatta, Nottingham Rowing Club's juniors, coached by Declan Gamble, were also successful. Alex Barlow and Josef Stoger beat Peterborough City and Lincoln Rowing Club to win Men's Intermediate 3 Double Sculls; both boys are now IM2 status. Abi Clark and Bella Barlow won Women's Junior 15 Doubles and then turned on the style when joined by Victoria Straw and Harriet Ferguson in the Women's Novice Quadruple Sculls - where they lowered the course record by 10 seconds!
