If you are an adult interested in learning to row, we would expect you to complete a Learn to Row (LTR) course as a first step. These consist of a number of sessions for a fixed fee, during which you will be taught how to scull – two blades, one in each hand as opposed to sweep oar, one long oar in one hand (think the Oxford and Cambridge boat race). Sculling is generally accepted to require a greater technical finesse than sweep-oar rowing and is a great place to start.

Courses are run at Trent Bridge throughout the year and you should contact Nikki Spencer for more details (  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  ).

After completing a LTR course you may wish to join the club as either a competitive or recreational rower.

Health declaration and membership application forms

Rowing is a strenuous activity, so in everyone's best interest you are required to complete and sign a health declaration form; this should be brought along to the first session at the club. Unfortunately without this completed document no activity can be allowed.

After completing the course, if you wish to continue rowing at NRC you should complete and sign the membership application form.
