After another tough season of competition and trials which started back in November 2014, Nottingham RC rower and Loughborough University student Katie Bartlett has been selected for GB in the women's eight for the World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on the 22nd to the 26th July.

Likewise in the mens' lightweight category, Ed Fisher, a former Nottingham RC member, has been selected for the GB lightweight coxless four. Ed now trains at Leander Club in Henley with a large group of like-minded athletes, building on his solid grounding in racing ability received at Nottingham's Junior Squad.

Katie won a silver medal in the women's eight at last years under World Championships  in Varese, Italy. This is the eighth year Katie has been selected for GB Rowing, having competed in two GB-France matches, the Junior European Championships, two Jnr World Championships and now three Under 23 World Rowing Championships. She is based at Holme Pierrepont and is part of British Rowing's Start Programme.

This is Ed's first selection for a full GB Team since 2010, when he rowed in the J16 team vs France after winning seasons on the home front.

A big thank you goes out to Nottingham Rowing Club's Junior coaching teams and to both athletes' commercial sponsors for their support .

The under 23 team is supported by UK Sports Lottery Fund.
