4 crews from Nottingham Rowing Club took part in the team selection trials on Sunday 28th June for the 2015 Anglo-French match. This annual event is a J16 match between the two countries with the aim of developing experience of international racing in junior competitors. This year the match will be held in London on Sunday 12th July. The trials were held at the National Watersports Centre in windy conditions.

Rachel Heap [Rushcliffe School] trialled in the Junior Women Single finishing 5th in a field of 10. This result showed the fantastic progress Rachel has made this season managing to beat some big names in the junior women scene

Lucy Holgate [Sutton Coldfield Grammar School] and Hannah Stocks , coached by Declan Gamble, competed in the Junior Women Double Scull using a kindly lent Wintech Cobra double from Oarsport. The girls won the event by over 7 seconds and were therefore selected to represent Great Britain at the match in the Junior Women Double.

In the last event of the day, the Junior Women coxless four, Priya Jenkins [Loughborough High] and Rachel Heap joined forces with 2 girls from Globe RC. With limited sweep experience and only 2000m to practice before the race the girls pulled together and produced a superb row managing to defeat two other crews from the field of 10.
