Rowing in the Team GB Legs/Trunk/Arms Paralympic Coxed Four at Varese in Italy, Nottingham Rowing Club's Grace Clough won two gold medals.

In the first final, Team GB beat the Germans by 9 secs with Brazil a distant third. With a substitute on board, in the second final Grace won again with Italy in second place and France third.

Grace has been a member of the Nottingham Club for two years. She is currently World Champion and is due to race again in Italy in the World Cup in late June; the key race will be the Olympic qualifiers at Aiguebelette in France which  for winners is the route to Rio, although Grace has never lost a race thus far.

Grace is 2014 Rushcliffe Disabled Sportsperson of the Year and Nottingham City's Sportsperson of 2014.

Another Nottingham Rowing Club member in action was Becket School's Anna Thornton, competing at the European Junior Rowing Championships at Racice in the Czech Republic instead of the National Schools  Regatta at Nottingham.

Racing on an 8 lane course over 2000m Anna came 5th in the A final. "A very solid performance" said the Club's High Performance coach Dez Atkins.

The course is on the site of old sand quarries and opened in 1986.
