Have you ever wondered how to get into the sport of rowing? One of Britain's most successul sports in terms of international successes, rowing has a reputation as an elitist sport - but away from the public schools and older universities nothing could be further from the truth. Most large cities and towns in the UK have one or more local rowing clubs who are very keen to welcome you and introduce you to what is probably a totally new activity.

Here in Nottingham, the predominant club is Nottingham Rowing Club, based near Trent Bridge (you'll recognise us by our club colours of dark blue, light blue and gold). Although the club holds regular Learn to Row courses throughout the year, this year we're having an open day on Sunday July 12th when we hope to introduce the club to as many people as possible.

So if you're thinking of taking up a new challenge, why not come along? To give us an idea of numbers just drop us an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
