Jack Smith (Toot Hill School, Bingham) and Harvey Kay (Rushcliffe School West Bridgford) overcame very difficult water conditions to win the Under 19 Double Sculls title at the British Rowing Senior National Rowing Championships. Held at Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre on the 19th October, wind and wave conditions caused the organisers to call off the event but Jack and Harvey have their medals and are National Champions! They join Kyra Edwards (George Spencer School), Women's J17 School Sculling Champion and Anna Thornton (Becket School), Women's J18 School Sculling Champion as the club's current national champions.

Harvey's school, Rushcliffe, is designated as a 'Watersports Hub School'; it is the only one of its kind in Nottinghamshire, and one of only nine in the UK. The National Governing Bodies of sailing, canoeing and rowing are supporting activities at these selected schools.
