For the second year in succession Nottingham Rowing Club, under the direction of Junior Coordinator Claire Parnell, have won the Nottingham Evening Post Under 19 team of the year award, as the result of performances at Nottingham City Regatta, the National Schools Regatta, the National Junior Championships, the Anglo-French Match, the Coupe de  la Jeunesse and culminating in 14 wins and 7 course records at Peterborough Summer Regatta.

The glittering award ceremony, a celebration of sport in Nottinghamshire, took place at the East Midland Conference Centre and was attended by Anna Thornton [Becket School], Rowan Law [West Bridgford School] and Olivia and Harvey Kay [Rushcliffe School], whose parents Tom and Claire Kay looked after the youngsters. The athletes in attendance represented a large team of 20 from Toot Hill School, South Notts Academy, Rushcliffe School, West Bridgford School, Becket School, the George Spencer School, Fernwood School, Trinity School, Djanogly City Academy, Nottingham City Academy and the Girls' and Boys' High Schools.

Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie presented the award which was sponsored by Central College. Nottingham Express Transport were headline sponsors of the event.
