After wins on the River Severn at both Worcester and Stourport, the Nottingham Rowing Club Veterans/Masters returned to race on the River Trent.

At Burton-on-Trent the Masters F eight (average age 60) of Steve Cuthbert, Tony Lorrimer, Andy Brown, Derek Crowley, Paul Johns with 3 Bewdley Rowing Club members and coxed by Carole Dickinson rowed over a 3,500m course in what Tony described as horrendous conditions due to a fast stream and strong winds. The first 500m was covered in about 45 strokes and the eight covered the distance in 11mins and 7 seconds.

The crew won their event and were placed a creditable 2nd overall. Attention now switches to the Nottingham stretch of the Trent where on Sunday November 3rd races will take place at 11.00am and 2.00pm from Clifton to the Forest Stand.
