The Pairs Head for double sculls and coxless pairs attracted over 450 crews. It was rowed on the ebb tide over 4,000m from Chiswick to Hammersmith Bridge; Nottingham Rowing Club entered 3 junior crews coached by Claire Parnell and one masters boat.

The Junior Double Scull of Rowan Law (West Bridgford School) and Jack Smith (Toot Hill School) were the overall winners of their event in a field of 24. This was the first time that a crew from the club had won at the Pairs Head. Although only 14, Faisan Shah (Farnborough School) and Harvey Kay (Rushcliffe School) came 8th in the same event. In the Women’s J16 Double Sculls, Olivia Kay (Rushcliffe School) and Anna Thornton (Fernwood School) came second to Marlow Rowing Club, Sir Steve Redgrave’s old haunt, in a field of 14. Dave Wregg and Nigel Hollingworth came 5th in the Masters G coxless pairs (minimum age 60).

The youngsters were particularly grateful to Nick Parnell of London Rowing Club for advice on steering on the tidal stretch of the Thames.
