Nottingham Sprint Regatta will be held on Saturday 29th September over 750m from the Suspension Bridge to the Forest Ground. The need for such an event was underlined when two more regattas, St Neots on the River Ouse and Bewdley on the Severn were called off due to high water and waterlogged outfields. They joined the unprecedented list of cancelled events from Durham to Burton-on-Trent which have been forced to cancel during this wet summer.

A large number of novice and inexperienced rowers and scullers have yet to compete this year and the Sprint Regatta is to give priority to novice and Intermediate 3 eights ,fours and quads. Junior rowers aged 13-18 will be very welcome. The total entry will be limited to 200 crews and there will be morning and afternoon programmes.

Sponsors are already coming forward to support individual events and purchase trophies for winning crews.

With a limit on entry size, clubs are encouraged to get their entries in early.
