Hot time at Peterborough

Nottingham Rowing Club’s Intermediate Men’s squad, led by coach Clive Fletcher, spent the weekend rowing at Peterborough. The regatta took place on an artificial 1,000m course constructed with easy access onto the River Nene.Conditions were hot and dry with an easterly wind.

The squad reached four finals in Intermediate 3 eights and fours and Novice fours. The eight was second on both days; on Sunday they lost to Churchill College, Cambridge by 0.3 seconds in the fastest race of the day. The crew was coxed by Kat Noon with Toby Powell at stroke, Colin Partridge, Mike Tourt, Jon Okon, Clive Fletcher, Liam Gorman, Ollie Bailey and Andrew Shore. Some of the crew had ten races over the week-end!

Going one better, Chris Baker, who is coached by World Class Start coach Julie Edwards sponsored by Siemens, won both Intermediate 3 and Intermediate 2 sculls.
