Two juniors, Olivia Duckworth (WJ16) and Dominic Parnell (J16), travelled to Dorney Lake over the weekend with their coaches, Claire Parnell & Andy Ivory, to race at the Thames Valley Head run by Marlow Rowing Club over 1900m of the Olympic course.

521 crews entered the event and both juniors won their doubles events easily.

Olivia Duckworth raced up one year & two years in the WJ17.2x and WJ18.2x with her trials partner from Wallingford Rowing Club, Leanne Reeves. The WJ17.2x double finished with the second fastest time of the day for either junior women or senior women in a double - only beaten by WSEN.2x. They finished 123rd / 521.

Having won their WJ17.2x comfortably with a time that beat all the WJ18.2x, in their WJ18.2x race they produced a slower time than their WJ17 race - thus finishing 3rd.

Dominic Parnell teamed up with his brother, Nicholas from London Rowing Club, to race up into the SEN.2x. Dom and Nick won their race comfortably and finished 52nd / 521.

Dominic also entered J16.1x and finished a very creditable 7th out of an entry of 26 after taking time out from training recently for GCSE exams.

The juniors are next in action at the Hampton Head and the Head of the Nene on Saturday 4th February.
